I worked for Unisys for 35 years. I joined the company in 1966 when it was known as Burroughs Limited. My first position was as a Field Engineer repairing adding and accounting machines. In 1970 I trained on the Burroughs B500, then B3500 thru B3900 computers. The last Burroughs computer I trained on was the B6700. I later become the Resource Control Manager for New Zealand then the Engineering Product Manager. My last assignment was as a Sales Support person in the Computer Sales Division. I also had an interest in, programming so I learnt COBOL, ALGOL, LINC, MAPPER and DEPCON (now renamed "Enterprise Output Manager). Being in computers from the early days and being interested in programming, enabled me to learn and understand how the Operating System Software integrated with the hardware.
